EUthMappers is a project aimed at improving STEM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) and the environmental civic engagement of pupils by introducing open and collaborative mapping in Secondary Schools across the EU.
The project seeks to address the gap in recent training updates. It focuses particularly on ICT-related professional development and innovative STEM teaching methodologies, which represent entry barriers for those beginning to learn and can negatively affect pupils' interest in STEM disciplines.
Through mapping activities, the project aims to provide pupils with both soft and hard skills, while enabling them to conceptually appropriate their surrounding environment.
EUthMappers also seeks to provide teachers with innovative teaching tools and updated training opportunities. By establishing and growing a European community of teachers, youth, and professionals dedicated to geo-spatial mapping, the project aims to capitalize on EU's investment in relevant fields connected to the topic and showcase European assets and capabilities.
