In the realm of Geographic Information Systems, where data becomes a tapestry of our world, I find myself woven into the intricate fabric of GIS. My journey began with a fervent curiosity for the Earth's secrets, a passion that led me to the University of Bucharest, where I delved into the science of spatial exploration.
As a geographer specialising in territorial planning and GIS, I am acutely aware of the power that these systems hold. They are the compass guiding us through the labyrinthine streets of urban planning, revealing the patterns of our cities, and unraveling the tapestry of our land use. GIS techniques, like ancient cartography reimagined, allow us to craft maps that tell stories—of landscapes, of development, and of human impact.
In the age of information, open source and open data are the bridges that connect us all. They are the very essence of democratic cartography, forging pathways to knowledge. Through collaborative and humanitarian mapping, we stitch together not just lines on a map, but threads of understanding and empathy. We lend our geospatial skills to those who need it most, illuminating dark corners with the light of geospatial insight.
In this journey, my blog, "Geographic Eye," stands as a chronicle of my love affair with geography, GIS, and urban planning. It is an ode to the beauty of maps and the science that underpins them.
I embark on a new chapter in this cartographic odyssey with each project and job. I seek not just professional growth but the camaraderie of fellow explorers—people from whom I can learn, with whom I can share, and together, we shall continue to map the world's uncharted territories.

An interesting, topical project with the objective of mapping satellite imagery. Personally, I was pleasantly impressed by the willingness of people to get involved voluntarily in this action and to achieve something of great importance for our fellow human beings. I find the idea of this project's objective to be one of great impact on people who can thus demonstrate the power of a community to get involved and achieve something of great significance for humanity. I believe that an informed man is a stronger man who can more easily find solutions to everyday problems. That is why I want the project to be successful and involve as many people as possible.

Mankind has always been guided by maps. I think everyone knows that, but in this project I convinced myself that making a map is interesting, but there is something magical about being able to see a picture and an observation you made in the field displayed in your own map. I'm sure our students will enjoy contributing to this project too. I'm so glad I had the chance to be involved in such an activity!
